Monkey Bread

I was introduced to this little gem last week from a coworker at my preschool.  It seems that everyone's heard of it except for me! Each little bite-sized piece of this bread can be torn off individually, which is kinda nice!  It's smothered with deliciously warm sugar and cinnamon, and the dough practically melts in your mouth.  Be careful not to make it when you're alone, or you'll end up eating the whole thing by yourself.  It's that good!

Ingredients:
  • 2 cans "Grands" Biscuits (cut in halves)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • Walnuts or raisins (optional)
Directions:
  1. Mix your regular sugar with the cinnamon in a large ziploc bag.
  2. Shake your biscuit halves (and walnuts or raisins, if you like) in with the cinnamon and sugar, then pour into a bundt pan.
  3. Melt the butter and mix it with the brown sugar, then pour it over the biscuits.
  4. Bake at 400º F for 11 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
  5. Wipe the drool off your chin, and pull off a piece.  Stick it in your mouth and savor the sugary awesomeness that is Monkey Bread.
